Even Me confronts the overwhelming crisis of HIV/AIDS among older adults 50+. Defying the myth that HIV/AIDS is a gay or young person’s disease, this revealing documentary depicts the devastating impact of this epidemic on the heterosexual, older adult population and communities of color.
Megan Ebor received her Master’s in Social Welfare from the University of California Los Angeles. After working in the field of aging nearly 15 years, her recent work engages social documentation as a means to expose the issues faced by the clients she has encountered as a senior advocate, care manager, and Long-Term Care Ombudsman. Her first short documentary, Even Me, addresses the rise in HIV/AIDS among ethnic minority, older adults 50+.
Even Me was screened at the 2012 National Medical Associations Convention and Scientific Assembly in July 2012. This convention describes its intended audience as follows:
The 2012 NMA Convention is planned as an educational enrichment for practicing physicians, residents and other health professionals representing a variety of medical specialties and related health professions. Participants in the National Medical Association's Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from July 28 to August 1, 2012 included physicians, allied health professionals, residents, medical students and health advocates.
